Michael Busby, Ph.D.

Michael Busby is the director of the Center of Excellence in Information Systems

Michael Busby is professor and Director of the Center of Excellence in Information Systems Engineering and Management, at Tennessee State University, Nashville, Tennessee. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Busby received his master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his doctoral degree from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Busby has published in journals such as the Journal of Chemical Physics, Applied Physics Letters, AAA Journal, and the Astronomical Journal. Professor Busby was a Graduate Research NSF Fellow at MIT. He chaired the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TSU and serves on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Space Grant Consortium. Some of his interests include hiking, astronomy, and farming. His wife Leanne Busby is an Assistant Professor for the Practice of Nursing at Vanderbilt University. His son, Tim, is a professional engineer with Mobil Oil Corporation, and his daughter Sally is an undergraduate student majoring in elementary education.
