This conference, the third of four scheduled, was held on July 12 -13, 2001 in Nashville TN.  Ninety-seven (97) persons attended this two-day event, of which 55 were students, and 33 were faculty and administrators. There were representatives from six (6) different HBCUs, two non-HBCUs, and three government agencies.

This highly interactive event  opened lines of communications among management, faculty, staff, and students especially, through which positive results will accrue for mutual benefits. In short, this event is a giant step toward the goal of this project, which is to help close the digital divide on HBCU campuses. So, on behalf of Tennessee State University and the AOL Time Warner Foundation, we thank each of the attendees for making this conference a success beyond expectations.

The Conference Proceedings will be posted at this URL shortly and  will also be downloadable in PDF format. In the meantime, you may view the conference keynote address by Dr. James Hefner, President of Tennessee State University
Also, please make plans and advise others to attend our next (final) conference under this project, which will be held October 4 - 5, 2001, Thursday and Friday, which will be hosted by Jackson State University, Jackson MS.  Click here for new conference website
