Digital Divide

SOME BACKGROUND ISSUES ON THE "DIGITAL DIVIDE"

The presentation entitled "The Digital Divide, African American Students, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities - the problem, the challenge, and the solution respectively" provided the baseline for the TSU AOL proposal.  This presentation also establishes the basis for key issues for the planned conference, and can be viewed as follows:

See also Background on the Digital Divide  on this web, which is also based on the above presentation.

A more detailed technical paper that helps to underpin the rationale for project is  "Why and How Fast is the Digital Divide Widening Among Minorities in this Country?".  This paper can be viewed or downloaded in Adobe PDF format.

Feedback on Potential Issues for the TSU-AOL Conferences

Suggested issues to be covered at our 'digital divide" conferences that are, or should be, of potential interest to top level management at HBCUs (i.e., presidents, chancellors, and other key administrators) are warmly welcomed.

Especially welcomed are actual "problem areas" in academia that could possibly be addressed through technology-based applications. Questions and comments are also welcomed.

You may submit your responses in the window below.  If you desire an individual response,  include your Email address.  A confirmation screen will appear after you check "Submit".
